Rochester police cordoned off an area just outside the city's downtown on Tuesday after someone found a suitcase leaning against a natural gas line.
The suitcase was found about 3:30 p.m. at the corner of Civic Center Drive and Sixth Avenue Northwest, police said. The Bloomington Bomb squad was expected to arrive about 6:30 p.m.
Although police received no threats, they took precautions because it was near the gas line. Officials evacuated some nearby buildings and rerouted traffic on several blocks of Civic Center Drive near the site.
