Apple Valley deaths ruled murder-suicide

Authorities say the deaths of two adults and a child in Apple Valley were the result of a murder-suicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said 28-year-old Komel Crowley and 5-year-old Rani Crowley both died of a gunshot wound to the head. Their deaths were ruled homicides.

David Crowley, 29, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Neighbors and family members have told local media that they hadn't heard from the family in weeks. Police say their bodies were discovered Saturday by a neighbor.

David Crowley identified himself online as a writer, military veteran and filmmaker. He had been working on a movie called Gray State." Komel Crowley worked as a dietitian, according to her website.

In memory of the family, David Crowley's brother Dan Crowley has set up a Web page on GoFundMe.com to help pay medical bills for Komel Crowley's mother, who is fighting cancer.
