The website FactCheck.org, run by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, is a tool many turn to to look for truth in comments made by politicians and their allies.

After operating FactCheck for more than a decade, the center launched a new feature last month. It's called SciCheck and it looks specifically at scientific claims.

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, director of the Annenberg center, told MPR's Phil Picardi that the inspiration for SciCheck actually came from Minnesota's own Michele Bachmann. Listen to the interview to hear the story.
