The Burnsville Police Department said a standoff with a man who barricaded himself inside a house Wednesday has ended peacefully.
The incident, which lasted nearly 7 hours, happened at a house near Judicial Road and Burnsville Parkway West. When police arrived at about 9 a.m., they evacuated a nearby home daycare center and allowed parents to pick up their children.
Several streets around Sunset Pond Park were blocked off for much of the day, but are now reopening.
Sgt. Jeff Witte of the Burnsville Police Department said the department's SWAT team was called to the scene to negotiate with the man, who they considered suicidal.
At the time, police did not think anyone else was in the house.
