Budget bills head to Senate, House committees at the Capitol

With five weeks left in the 2015 session, House and Senate committees are wrapping up their work on some of the smaller budget bills. But there's a lot of work left to do, and deep disagreements remain on big issues including taxes, transportation funding and how best to use the $1.9 billion projected surplus.

DFL Gov. Mark Dayton highlighted many of his differences with House Republicans during last week's State of the State speech.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with reporter Tim Pugmire, who covers the state Capitol, about what's on the agenda for the week ahead.
