Loft Literary Center taps Macalester grad as next leader

The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis has named Britt Udesen its next executive director.

Udesen, a graduate of Macalester College, currently runs The Cabin, a literary arts center in Boise, Idaho.

"I've been looking to The Loft as an example for, really, my whole professional life," she said. "The Loft really is the model for the best way to serve readers and writers."

Udesen, who grew up in Minnesota, replaces Jocelyn Hale, who steps down in August as the center celebrates its 40th anniversary. Coincidentally, Udesen also turns 40 this year.
