A Friday afternoon standoff between police and juveniles in St. Paul's North End has ended peacefully with three arrests.
Officers initially responded to reports of a man with a gun and cordoned off an area around the 200 block of Stinson Street, south of Front Avenue and east of Western Avenue.
At a briefing, authorities explained that a man whose car had allegedly been stolen saw the car in front of a house on Stinson, knew the parents and went to the house to talk to them.
There, police said one of several juveniles in the house pulled out a gun.
Police were called and an officer outside the house saw someone with a gun inside the house and called for backup.
A SWAT team was brought in and officials negotiated with those in the house.
Police said seven or eight juveniles emerged. Three of them, ages 17 and younger, were arrested and charges are pending, police said.
