Three dead, multiple wounded in Minneapolis weekend shootings

Three people were killed and at least three others wounded in shootings in Minneapolis over the weekend.
The latest shooting happened early Monday morning in north Minneapolis. Police said they found one victim dead in the street. Another showed up at North Memorial Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Another shooting late Saturday night near Franklin and Chicago avenues left two men dead. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday identified one of the men as Abdirahman Ahmed Jined, 24, of St. Paul.
In a third incident, on Saturday morning, a woman was wounded in Dinkytown. A driver shot at a group pedestrians after a verbal dispute. The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police also shot and wounded a suspect reported to have been seen with a gun in the city's downtown warehouse district around 3 a.m. Saturday. That suspect's wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
The shootings bring the number of people killed in Minneapolis so far this year to 29.
Police Spokesperson John Elder says that represents a bump from last year at the same time when 19 people had been killed.
"There's a lot of factors that play into it, weather is certainly one of them," he said. "We're looking at trends and we're mobilizing our resources to address each of these."
