Police Captain John Sherwin says responding officers found Trumane Lamar Gillmore, 22, of Rochester, dead and Demonterious Davonte Jackson, 20, also of Rochester, shot in the leg. A third man, Jerome Richard Zachary, 18, of Chicago, was also grazed by a bullet.

Sherwin says the men were playing a basketball game at the time of the shooting.

"There were multiple shots fired so I don't know what the fatal wound was," Sherwin said. "But he was hit many times. He was deceased upon arrival and the officers responding arrived fairly quickly."

Sherwin says officials believe the male suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue jeans and a red bandana covering his face. He was last seen running away from the shooting.

"There were a lot of witnesses present, including children, so we're talking to individuals and trying to figure out exactly where we're going," Sherwin said.
