Second medical marijuana supplier offers discount

Minnesota Medical Solutions announced it will be giving a discount aimed at making medical cannabis more accessible for state residents.

The company will offer all of its supplies at half price for new patients during the month of October. It's the second medical cannabis supplier in the state to offer such a discount.

"This is mainly geared at patients who have this substantial registration fee," said Kyle Kingsley, president of Minnesota Medical Solutions. "And then, they're nervous about these medications that may cost more than they want. So we are looking to really give patients the impetus to take the step. Check it out, see if it's for them."

Kinglsey said his company now has about 300 customers. He said hundreds of other patients have started the registration process but haven't completed it.

Cottage Grove-based Leafline Labs announced last week it would offer patients a 15 percent discount when they purchase a supply sufficient for 25 days or more.
