Three people were killed in two separate shootings Friday night in Minneapolis.

"Both of these cases were isolated incidents," said Minneapolis Police spokesperson John Elder. "It's important that we take the time to provide the help to those that were involved as well as anybody else affected by the incident."

In one incident, two people are dead and two others are in custody after a domestic-related shooting in a south Minneapolis home.

Police say the shooting occurred around 5 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived to find two people dead of gunshot wounds. Two other people in the house were taken into custody — one is believed to be a suspect and the other was taken into protective custody.

Police spokesman John Elder said authorities believe the victims lived at the home.

The victims' ages and identities were not immediately released. Police say the Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release that information and the official cause of death.

About six hours after the first incident, police responded to another shooting in North Minneapolis. They found a man with a gunshot wound dead in front of a residence.

Nearby, they found another man who'd been shot in the foot. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance.

Police say it appeared the man killed was the intended target of the shooting. No arrests have been made.
