Prosecutors charge man in gang shooting on St. Paul bridge

Ramsey County prosecutors charged one man and are reviewing charges against another in connection with a St. Paul drive-by gang shooting earlier this month.

A third man identified in court documents as the shooter has not been charged.

Dametrius Ratheal Adrian Moore, 23, of St. Paul, faces nine counts of aiding and abetting. Charges say Moore was driving when the backseat passenger allegedly shot at a group of five members of the East Side Boys Gang on Oct. 15 on the Earl Street Bridge.

St. Paul Police say Emmett Lee Wilson-Shaw, 24, of St. Paul died of gunshot wounds to the back. According to court documents, Wilson-Shaw is said to have been a high-ranking member of the gang.

One of those present at the time of the shooting told police they were walking about 20 feet ahead of Wilson-Shaw when the shooter fired seven or eight times, according to the criminal complaint. After shots were fired, the car accelerated quickly.

St. Paul police say they're still investigating several other shooting cases including the most recent homicide of Sarah Anne Wierstad, 24, who also died on the east side of St. Paul last Sunday.

Four people have been shot and killed in St. Paul this month. In Minneapolis there have been six homicides — five by gun, and one the result of a stabbing.
