St. Paul Police say one man is dead after a shooting early Saturday morning in a parking lot in the 1100 block of University Avenue West.
Sgt. Mike Ernster says police responded to a shooting call around 2 a.m.
"Upon arrival they located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. St. Paul Fire Paramedics responded, transported the victim to Regions where he was pronounced dead. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and the forensics services unit is currently on scene processing for evidence," he said.
Ernster declined to release details about the victim and the shooting, but says there appears to be no danger to the public.
He says police are waiting for the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death.
