Advice on talking with your family about race

Protesters continue to call for justice weeks after Jamar Clark, 24, was shot and killed by a police officer.

Members of Black Lives Matter are calling for the release of video from the shooting, but in recent days have also called for attention to other racial disparities in health, income and education.

How has the news from places like Minneapolis, Charleston or Chicago changed the way you think about race? On Tuesday MPR News host Kerri Miller hosted a conversation about how to facilitate discussions about race and privilege with your family.

Miller was joined by Gene Demby, lead blogger at NPR's Code Switch, and Vernā Myers, activist and author of 'What if I Say the Wrong Thing?: 25 Habits of Culturally Effective People.'
