We topped out at 46 degrees at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport today, which is 16 degrees above average. Every day this month has been warmer than normal in the Twin Cities, allowing our snowcover to shrink quickly. No cold snaps are forecast in the next 7 to 10 days, so our December heating bills are likely to be lower than normal.
Some areas of dense fog are possible overnight tonight and early Tuesday over portions of northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin:
According to the Duluth office of the National Weather Service: " FOG IS EXPECTED TO FORM ONCE AGAIN TONIGHT. THE FOG MAY BE DENSE AT TIMES, WITH VISIBILITIES WELL UNDER A MILE. THERE MAY ALSO BE SOME FREEZING DRIZZLE OVERNIGHT, GENERALLY IN NORTHWESTERN WISCONSIN."
Scattered afternoon and evening showers are possible on Tuesday, and we'll see mild high temperatures:
Highs will be above normal on Wednesday as well:
High temps will drop by this weekend, but they will still be a bit above normal. Snow lovers will need to be patient this December.
