St. Paul expands metered parking hours, prices

The city of St. Paul will increase parking enforcement hours and some rates starting Monday.

Meters will now be enforced from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Metered spots in downtown St. Paul used to be free after 5 p.m.

The price of parking will go up to a flat rate of $2 an hour until 6 p.m. It will be $1 an hour after that. Some areas with low parking demand will have cheaper rates.

There will now be event rates at meters. Rates during events at the Xcel Energy Center will go up to $3.75 per hour and rates for events at CHS Field will be $2.50 per hour.

Sunday parking remains free.
