Three adults, including the principal, at Harrison Education Center in Minneapolis have been assaulted by students in the last two months.

Principal Monica Fabre and a paraprofessional were assaulted by teens in separate incidents last month. Another staffer was assaulted Thursday.

Minneapolis police reports say Fabre was assaulted by a 17-year-old girl on the morning of Dec. 7. The next day, a paraprofessional was assaulted by an 18-year-old male just after noon.

Details on Thursday's incident were not immediately available, although Minneapolis schools' interim superintendent described it as "involving a student and an adult" and that the staffer was not the principal.

Goar said the alternative high school has 41 staff members for 43 students.

"This is not your traditional, typical, K-12 or 9-12 building," he said, "What we create is a special setting for students for their specific needs."

Still, Goar said the school takes violence in schools and teacher safety very seriously.
