Time to (almost) sit down at new Vikings stadium

Installing seats in section 349
Workers install two rows of seats in Section 349 at U.S. Bank Stadium, the future home of the Minnesota Vikings, last week. All 58,000 fixed seats and 6,000 retractable seats have now been installed, according to stadium officials.

The Vikings and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority say all 58,000 fixed seats and 6,000 retractable seats have been installed, a process that started last June.

Workers installed seats, railings, cup holders and aisle numbers throughout the stadium bowl. The stadium will seat just over 66,000 people, including seating for those in wheelchairs, those with limited mobility and lounge seating.

Season ticket-holders have claimed 46,000 seats already. And all but four of the 131 suites have been sold. The seating installation comes four months before the scheduled completion of the $1.1 billion stadium.
