Warm Sunday, showers possible this week

We hit 80 degrees at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday. That was 22 degrees warmer than normal! We last saw 80 degrees or warmer in the Twin Cities on October 11, 2015.

We could hit 80 again today, and 70s will be common in central and southern Minnesota:

Over far northwestern Minnesota, highs in 40s and 50s are expected.

Snow season over?

I was asked yesterday if we will see any more snow this month. Probably not, but there are no guarantees in Twin Cities weather!

Our official Twin Cities snow tally is 36.7 inches for this 2015-2016 snow season. That is 16.9 inches below normal.

The snow season definitely is not over in Denver, Colorado! They had a foot of snow on Saturday, with some additional snow accumulation through this morning. It's a good thing that the Colorado Rockies aren't trying to play any home baseball games this weekend!

Rain possibilities

Forecast models show the stationary front over northern Minnesota sagging south as a cold front over the next 24-36 hours, as a low pressure system moves toward us:

We could see some showers late Monday in the Twin Cities, with a better chance of occasional showers Monday night into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cooler temps by Tuesday

Highs in the 70s are expected in the Twin Cities on Monday, but cooler 60s are on tap for Tuesday through Thursday:

Computer models are indicating the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms next weekend. We'll keep you posted on that.

I hope that you are enjoying the weather this weekend!
