A Bemidji man was arrested Sunday in connection with the death of a 2-year-old girl.
Just after noon authorities were called to a home on Lake Avenue in Bemidji. The caller said a child was not breathing.
According to a report released by the Police Department, emergency responders found the girl dead at the home. Police searched the property and arrested a man.
The body of the child was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
The case is still under investigation. According to the Police Department, the man who was arrested could face second-degree murder and manslaughter charges, but formal charges have not been leveled.
