Prince will command attention for one night at the Minnesota State Fair.

On Friday, Aug. 26, the State Fair plans to honor the late superstar with a special fireworks display, music and purple glow bracelets and buttons for the first several thousand fans entering after 5 p.m.

The fair calls it "Unite in Purple," and it'll feature "lavender lighting on iconic buildings and fair rides." Fairgoers are encouraged to wear purple as well. The fair promises Prince music and covers at several locations.

Prince associate DJ Dudley D will host a "A Prince Party in the Park" at Carousel Park from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The purple celebration will conclude with fireworks set to Prince music, "featuring a special pyrotechnic Prince tribute," after the Grandstand concert by R&B artist Charlie Wilson and Fantasia, according to the State Fair's website.

Fantasia is also known for her work as Celie in the 2007 Broadway production of "The Color Purple."
