Thunderstorms at times through this evening

Scattered thunderstorms can be expected across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin through the late afternoon and evening hours.

Some of the thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening could be severe. The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has a slight risk of severe weather through the remainder of this afternoon and tonight for much of central and southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area:

Western Wisconsin and parts of northern and southeastern Minnesota are in the marginal risk area for severe weather.

Damaging thunderstorm winds and large hail will be the main severe weather threats through the remainder of this afternoon and this evening.  Some areas may also receive heavy rainfall amounts.
