Jazz musician and writer Peter Goggin was impressed by the 

 currently on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Goggin says the paintings really cover the gamut of artistic styles and movements. He was particularly struck by Gustav Klimt's painting of a birch forest, in which the viewer is able to get lost in the detailed brush strokes. "Seeing Nature" runs through Sept. 18. 


 
Radio DJ Jessica Paxton says she is super-pumped for the return of Mark Olson to the Twin Cities this weekend. Olson, formerly of The Jayhawks, is 

performing at The Warming House in Minneapolis

 Aug. 27-28. Paxton thinks Olson is a national musical treasure and says his wife and musical collaborator, Ingunn Ringvold, provides perfect harmonies to his distinctive voice.
