The Revolution to play at First Avenue to honor Prince
Today's Morning Edition music is from "Pop Life" by Prince and the Revolution from the 1985 album "Around the World in a Day."
Members of the Revolution will pay tribute to Prince with three sold out shows beginning Thursday night at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
Guitarist Wendy Melvoin told the Star Tribune's Jon Bream that the concerts are part the grieving process.
"The point for us is not to replace him. What we can do is offer a really beautiful experience of what we had as a band when we were with him. We will never be that thing because we're missing the lion's share, we're missing the figurehead, our sarcophagus."
