Dew points will rise to around 70 degrees by Monday afternoon over southern Minnesota. It'll feel a bit steamy!
Rain chances
Western Minnesota has the best chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms today, but a stray shower could move over the far western part of the metro area and into central Minnesota.
Showers and thunderstorm chances increase this evening to the west, and most of Minnesota should see some periods of rain overnight into Monday morning.
The National Weather Service North American Mesoscale Forecast model shows the increase of thunderstorm activity tonight into Monday morning:
Severe weather
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a slight risk of severe weather over a small part of west-central and northwestern Minnesota today and tonight:
There is a marginal risk of severe weather over the remainder of the northwestern half of Minnesota. The best chance of severe weather would tend to be this evening into the overnight hours.
For Monday and Monday night, the slight risk of severe weather expands to cover much of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area:
The best chance of a strong to severe thunderstorm would tend to be very early Monday, then late afternoon into Monday evening.
