Budget takes center stage at state Capitol

After back-to-back weeks of jammed committee agendas, the workload lightens up just a bit at Minnesota's Capitol this week.

Some critical deadlines have passed and the focus is increasingly turning to assembling the new state budget.

DFL Gov. Mark Dayton is out with a revised plan and Republican lawmakers in charge of the House and Senate are setting out their ideas.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with political reporter Brian Bakst about the action at the Capitol this week.
