Prince stopped celebrating birthdays. Here's why

Fifty-nine years ago, Prince Rogers Nelson was born at Mount Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis. In the '80s Prince threw some big birthday bashes for himself, but later in his life he stopped celebrating his birthday. He talked about his birthday philosophy during an interview in 1999 on Dutch TV.
