Fergus Falls investigates suspicious death of child

Authorities are investigating the death of a child in Fergus Falls, Minn., as suspicious.

In a statement, Fergus Falls police said a child was brought to the hospital early Monday morning unconscious and not breathing. Attempts to revive the child failed.

The circumstances surrounding the child's death appear suspicious, the department said, adding that it was not releasing any additional information about the investigation.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is also investigating.
