
Meet Dan Gunderson
Dan Gunderson is a correspondent based in Moorhead. He covers general news for a wide swath of western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota with a focus on the environment, agriculture and Indian Country. He has been reporting for MPR News since 1987.
Over his nearly four decades in journalism, Dan’s work has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including multiple first place and awards of merit from the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association’s Eric Sevareid Awards, numerous Page One Awards from the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists, second place at the National Headliner Awards, and two USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism fellowships.
Dan has an associate degree in broadcasting from Riverland Community College in Austin. He enjoys exploring Minnesota and experiencing the unique challenges and delights each season brings.
