Minnewaska — which translates from two Native American languages to mean "good water" — is about 12 square miles.

Lake homes, camping and resorts surround the central Minnesota lake, as do the towns of Starbuck and Glenwood. There are paved trails and public lake access, plus some shoreline dining options.

Anglers can catch 13 different fish species, according to Lake Link.

It's 17 feet deep on average, Lake Link says, with a maximum depth of 32 feet.
