Political humor in the age of Trump

The Washington Post recently reported that viewers of late night television want their hosts to weigh in on politics. Rating are down for cheerful, apolitical Jimmy Fallon, while outspoken Stephen Colbert's audience grows.

So, how are comedians and cartoonists telling the story of today's political culture? And how are audiences responding?

Alison Dagnes of Shippensburg University answered that question. She is a political scientist and author of "A Conservative Walks into a Bar: The Politics of Political Humor."
