Noted Minnesota children's book author Kate DiCamillo has a new book, "Louisiana's Way Home."
The story follows Louisiana Elefante, who readers first met in the 2016 book "Raymie Nightingale," and it's DiCamillo's first sequel.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with DiCamillo about the book, and why she decided to return to Louisiana's character.
"It's less that I'm going back for her, and more that she's reaching out and grabbing me," DiCamillo said. "Because this is one of those characters who would not go away."
