Dolly Parton's latest music project premieres this weekend in St. Paul

A musical new take on the Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol" premieres this weekend at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul.

The story is set in the Great Smoky Mountains during the Depression, with Ebenezer Scrooge as a mining company boss. It's called "Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol" because the country music superstar wrote the music for the show.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer checked in with Parton to learn more about the project.
