It's been nearly 50 years since Elton John first performed in Minneapolis, in a show at the old Guthrie Theater. He was a last-minute replacement and performed in the afternoon because there was a play scheduled for that evening.

John, 71, returns to Minneapolis for shows on Thursday and Friday night at Target Center. The concerts are part of what John said will be his final tour.
