25 years since a jury found Michael Bolton plagiarized the Isley Brothers
It's been 25 years since a jury in California ruled that Michael Bolton plagiarized the Isley Brothers song "Love is a Wonderful Thing" in his 1991 song by the same name.
Bolton claimed that he had not heard the earlier Isley Brothers song when he created his, and that the two songs were very different. The jury disagreed, and awarded the Isley Brothers more than five million dollars.
