Severe thunderstorm watches for southern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin

Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected this Saturday across much of southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Some areas will see heavy rain and flooding is possible. Strong thunderstorms and a few severe thunderstorms will be possible. A severe thunderstorm watch continues in southwestern Minnesota until 11 a.m. this Saturday.

A severe thunderstorm watch continues until 4 p.m. for much of southern Minnesota and portions of Wisconsin:

Updates on the severe thunderstorm watches will be issued by the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center.

SPC shows a marginal risk of severe weather today and tonight in the Twin Cities metro area, which means that an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible:
