July going out in style; warmer and more humid to begin August
Look for occasional scattered thunderstorms later in the week.
Wednesday will bring us wispy clouds from the Dakotas and comfortable temperatures, along with dew points just in the 40s and 50s. One wrinkle might be a few isolated thunderstorms in the southwestern corner of the state.
Look for afternoon high temperatures from the mid-70s to low-80s.
The Twin Cities should reach of high of around 80 degrees with a light southeast breeze.
Hotter temperatures and numerous thunderstorms will dot the skies west and south of Minnesota Wednesday. Overnight thunderstorms in the Dakotas and Iowa have continued into the morning. An impressive line of storms has been marching into Iowa.

Warmer days beginning Thursday
It looks as though we will head into August with a mild warming trend. Thursday should bring our state high temperatures from the upper-70s to the mid-80s.
Dew points will climb several degrees and likely reach the low-60s in the Twin Cities. You will feel that humidity, but complaints should be minimal when compared to some of oppressive humidity we had in July.
Forecast models are predicting a scattering of thunderstorms in northernmost Minnesota on Thursday.
The Storm Prediction Center has posted a marginal risk of severe weather for Thursday evening for northwestern Minnesota in response to a weak frontal boundary in that area.
Continued seasonable heat into the weekend
Temperatures might warm to a few degrees above normal from Friday through the weekend. Highs are likely to be mainly in the 80s just about statewide. And expect enough humidity to remind you that summer is still in full swing. But this will not be heat wave by any means.
Weak disturbances passing through the atmosphere could trigger some occasional showers and thunderstorms during the Friday-Sunday period, mainly across northern Minnesota.
