90+ degree days
We topped out at 88 degrees at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Sunday afternoon. We haven’t reached 90 or warmer at MSP airport since that steamy Friday afternoon of July 19, when the high was 95.
Although June and July were both a bit warmer than normal, we’ve only reached an official high temp of 90 or warmer four times this year in the Twin Cities. That’s quite a change from 2018; the official Twin Cities high temp had reached 90 or warmer on 13 days by this point last year and we ended up with a total of 20 days of 90 or warmer for the year!
According to the Minnesota State Climatology Office, we average 12.9 days per year with a high of 90 degrees or warmer in the Twin Cities.
