If you have a lot of yard space, or perhaps you’ve added a new wing to your home, the state of Minnesota has a perfect decoration.
A hint — several states, including Minnesota — claim to be his homeland. And he walks around with a famous light-blue companion. We’re talking of course about the plaid-shirt wearing giant Paul Bunyan.
A cardboard version of Bunyan has been a display at the Eco Experience building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. But now, it’s being auctioned off on behalf of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Not only do you get to display Paul to friends and family, you can show off his axe — he comes with accessories.
Also, you’ll need some equipment, as the bidding page notes:
“A scissor lift and fork lift is used to move parts of the statute for assembly and disassembly. It is broken down into six pieces – head, two arms, two legs and the body. Wire is used to support much of the exhibit.”
On the bright side, barring a late surge, it appears the winning bidder may not have to fork over a ton of cash for the statue itself, as bids were hovering around $110 as of Saturday evening. Bidding closes on Aug. 30.
