Another round of freeway and ramp closures will be in effect in Minneapolis this weekend. Have your alternative route planned and a good podcast ready to go.

Both directions of Interstate 35W between Interstate 94 and Highway 280 will close starting at 10 p.m. Friday. And some ramps may close about an hour earlier.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the closure will last until early Monday morning as crews resurface parts of the freeway. Drivers will be detoured using Highway 280.

In addition, ramps from Highway 55 to westbound I-94, Third Street and Washington Avenue will be closed all weekend.
