We’ll take a peek behind the curtain at the Huttner Weather Lab, talk about weather highlights from this crazy weather year in Minnesota, and assess the latest climate change trends. I’m looking forward to seeing you in Duluth Tuesday, St. Cloud Wednesday and Bemidji Thursday.

Warming trend ahead

A minor low-pressure system spins through Minnesota Tuesday. Expect a few hours of showers in southern Minnesota. Rain will mix with snow showers in central and northern Minnesota Tuesday. Overall totals look light.

Southerly breezes blow in milder temperatures starting Thursday. The Twin Cities hits the 60s again through this weekend.

Winter: early milder than average signal emerging?

Confidence is always low heading into the winter outlook. But a few early signals suggest a possible milder than average bias for the first part of the winter season in the Upper Midwest and much of the eastern U.S. Stay tuned.
