A weak Alberta clipper weather system with limited moisture will track across Minnesota on Wednesday. Light snow will fall mainly on northeastern, central and southern Minnesota before advancing across the Great Lakes.

Tracking this one across Minnesota will be something of a challenge since the Twin Cities National Weather Service radar in Chanhassen is down for maintenance into Friday. Fortunately, Minnesota has an extensive network of surface weather stations. We can use those reports to track the precipitation and visibilities.
The low moisture content will also limit snowfall amounts. Most areas should pick up an inch or less. Some areas, especially just north of the Twin Cities area and in Wisconsin, might get one to two inches.

For the Twin Cities area, light snow should arrive from the northwest Wednesday morning and slide off into Wisconsin during the afternoon. Snowfall amounts are likely to be an inch or less for most of the metro area.

Yet another chilly day
High temperatures Wednesday afternoon should range from around 20 in the northeast around Ely to the low or mid 30s in the southwest around Luverne.
The Twin Cities should reach close to 30 with a wind from the south becoming west around 10 mph.
While Wednesday will be much less frigid than the low of 5 degrees and meager high of just 20 that the Twin Cities endured on Tuesday, it nevertheless will be our eighteenth consecutive colder-than-normal day. The average high for this date is 43.
Docile weather ahead
The two-part good news for the day is that milder temperatures are on their way and no major storms are in the foreseeable future.
Thursday will begin with a chilly morning in the teens under clear skies just about statewide and then warm a bit under the November sun.
Southern Minnesota could easily warm into the low 40s this coming weekend.
Milder afternoons will continue next week.
As far as precipitation is concerned, the next couple weeks should bring us numerous Alberta clippers with lots of clouds and the potential for occasional light snow or rain. The first of these waves could drop scattered light rain and snow this coming weekend.
The odds of a major snowstorm coming our way between now and Thanksgiving appear to be slim.
