Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 3.2 percent in October as employers added 7,400 jobs.

That’s better than the 3.6 percent national jobless rate. However, Minnesota’s one-year job growth of .4 percent was significantly below the 1.5 percent national rate, according to data released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Sectors that gained jobs for the month included leisure and hospitality (up 4,900); trade transportation and utilities (up 2,500); and manufacturing (up 1,300).

The information and financial activities sectors lost jobs with both down 1,000 jobs, the department said.
