Cold through midweek, then milder; any snowstorms in sight?
Trending mild next weekend and beyond

Temperature trends
Monday highs will be in the teens across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with some single-digit highs in far northern Minnesota. Highs in the upper teens are on tap for the Twin Cities.

Then it gets better. Highs in the 20s spread across most of Minnesota on Thursday:
Many spots in the Twin Cities will reach the upper 20s Thursday afternoon, then we’ll top out around 30 on Friday.
Will it turn cold after that? Probably not. Forecast models show mild temps next weekend, and the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a tendency for above normal temperatures in Minnesota and Wisconsin from next weekend through Christmas Day:
We’ll see if that pans out!
Snow chances
Northeastern Minnesota and far southern Minnesota have the best chance of light snow showers Sunday evening and overnight Sunday night. Far northwestern Wisconsin could also see a bit of light snow.
Monday looks dry in most areas, and there aren’t any snowstorms in the forecast models Tuesday through Friday. There’s hardly any snow on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Global Forecast System (GFS) model from Tuesday through Thursday:
That’s welcome news for commuters and holiday shoppers!
Hardly any snow November and early December of 2018
Our official Twin Cities snow total (measured at MSP airport) is 20.6 inches so far this snow season. At this point in our snow season last year, we had tallied only 7.3 inches of snow in the Twin Cities, but we ended up with 77.1 inches of snow for the 2018-2019 snow season:
A big factor in that huge season snow total was the record-setting 39 inches of snow in the Twin Cities last February!
I hope that you have a good week!
