Friday will be pleasant with mostly sunny skies and temperatures slightly above average.
Temperatures
Friday temperatures are already starting off mild for December, predominantly in the 20s, and they will stay slightly above average through the day. Afternoon highs will be in the 20s for most of the state, with a few low 30s in southern Minnesota.

Friday skies
Unlike the past few days, there is no dense fog Friday morning to restrict visibility and slow travel. Western Minnesota already has clearing skies, and the clouds in the eastern part of the state will clear out through the morning.

By Friday afternoon, most of Minnesota will be under mostly sunny skies.
Upcoming storm
By late Friday night, a winter storm starts pushing into the southwestern corner of the state and spreads north. An updated Updraft will full details on the storm will be posted by 9 a.m. but be prepared for it to cause travel problems all through the weekend.
A winter storm watch has already been issued for most of Minnesota in advance of the storm.
