Temperatures rose across the state overnight Wednesday, so most of Minnesota is back in the teens or 20s as of Thursday morning. By the afternoon, the entire state sees highs back at or above average ranging from the upper teens in northwestern Minnesota to 30s in the southeast corner of the state.
Precipitation
There is not a lot of precipitation with this system. Due to the temperatures it will predominantly be light snow for northern Minnesota, and light snow switching to light rain for southern Minnesota.
However, with warmer air coming in over the colder air we had in place on Wednesday, there will be some areas of light freezing rain or drizzle, especially for eastern Minnesota.
For snow, only northern Minnesota may see some light accumulation, with the highest amounts possible along northern Lake Superior.
By late Thursday afternoon most of the precipitation moves out, but as we get on the back side of the storm, cold air begins to funnel back in Friday.
