Periods of light snow continue Friday for much of eastern Minnesota, while southern parts of the state are waking up to fog again.
More light snow
The spotty light snow showers much of Minnesota saw on Thursday were more persistent for northeastern Minnesota, and that is the part of the state seeing more widespread snow as of Friday morning.

With the system that has been causing the snow moving east, it will be the eastern fringe of Minnesota that is most likely to see more light snow or flurries through Friday.

The North Shore has the best chance for accumulating snow on Friday, with 1 to 2 inches possible and isolated higher amounts. There could also be some light freezing drizzle for the area in the afternoon.

The rest of eastern Minnesota will see an inch or less of new snow.
Other conditions
Even outside of the areas seeing snow, cloudy skies prevail across the state for Friday. Temperatures remain above average, mostly in the 20s, and a few more 30s for the eastern edge of the state.

There is some light fog in southern Minnesota Friday morning, and more fog could develop again overnight Friday, especially for northern Minnesota.
