Yet another cloudy forecast for Wednesday
Parts of Minnesota will also see flurries and drizzle
Our trend of a stagnant air mass bringing low clouds, fog and even some flurries continues Wednesday. Temperatures start to rise slightly ahead of a big weekend warmup.
Cloudy yet again
We have had an unusually cloudy January, and for Wednesday we are still stuck in the same pattern that is keeping stable air and low level moisture across the state, causing low clouds and fog, especially in the morning.
Fortunately, the pattern is slowly changing and the fog is lighter in most areas Wednesday morning.
There are still some flurries as well, especially for northern Minnesota, and the North Shore could see light snow through the day. Here is the radar as of 6:59 a.m., showing very light snow, although not all of the flurries are being picked up on radar:

By later Wednesday, a little freezing drizzle could also fall in northwestern Minnesota, so watch for isolated slick spots.
More fog and freezing fog could develop overnight Wednesday, especially for the southern half of Minnesota.
Temperatures
Most of Minnesota is starting off in the teens Wednesday morning, but there is a pocket of colder air between Bemidji and Brainerd where a couple locations dipped below zero.
By Wednesday afternoon, most of the state will be slightly above average and in the 20s.
The entire state will see a big warmup by the weekend, with temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above average. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
