You know that it’s an unusual Feb. 2 weather pattern when the 5 a.m. temperature is 45 degrees at MSP airport. The temp dipped a few degrees by 6 a.m., but it’ll rebound this morning before dipping again from about mid-afternoon into this evening. We’ll probably top out in the upper 40s in the Twin Cities metro area. Our average Twin Cities high is only 25 degrees this time of year.

Sunday highs in the 40s are forecast for much of southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Northern Minnesota will top out in the 30s.  Temps will slowly fall across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin this afternoon.

Winds will be strong, so it’ll feel cooler than the air temp. Here are early-afternoon wind chills:

Wind advisories cover much of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin this Sunday:

The wind advisory in Thief River Falls, Detroit Lakes and Bemidji runs until noon. It runs until 3 p.m. in Brainerd, Hinckley, Hibbing, Duluth and parts of northwestern Wisconsin.
