You know that it’s an unusual Feb. 2 weather pattern when the 5 a.m. temperature is 45 degrees at MSP airport. The temp dipped a few degrees by 6 a.m., but it’ll rebound this morning before dipping again from about mid-afternoon into this evening. We’ll probably top out in the upper 40s in the Twin Cities metro area. Our average Twin Cities high is only 25 degrees this time of year.
Sunday highs in the 40s are forecast for much of southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin:
Northern Minnesota will top out in the 30s. Temps will slowly fall across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin this afternoon.

Wind advisories cover much of northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin this Sunday:
The wind advisory in Thief River Falls, Detroit Lakes and Bemidji runs until noon. It runs until 3 p.m. in Brainerd, Hinckley, Hibbing, Duluth and parts of northwestern Wisconsin.
Here are details of the Duluth portion of the wind advisory:
URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Duluth MN 611 AM CST Sun Feb 2 2020 ...GUSTY WEST AND NORTHWEST WINDS THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON... .An area of low pressure will pass over the region this morning and this afternoon. Strong west and northwest winds are expected over central, east-central, and northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin this morning through this afternoon. Sustained winds of 10 to 25 mph are expected with gusts as high as 45 mph. Winds may gust between 50 and 60 mph on the Bong and Blatnik bridges between Duluth and Superior. The winds and gusts will weaken quickly this afternoon as high pressure builds into the region. MNZ037-022100- /O.CON.KDLH.WI.Y.0002.200202T1400Z-200202T2100Z/ Carlton and South St. Louis- Including the city of Duluth 611 AM CST Sun Feb 2 2020 ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
