Friday starts off noticeably warmer

Sunshine and warm winds will put highs in the 30s

Friday will remain breezy, but it also brings the start of a mild and sunny trend that will last through the weekend.

Friday’s forecast

The day is off to a much milder start than the past two mornings. Much of the state saw rising temperatures overnight, and the entire state is starting off above zero.

The winds will be breezy at times, and especially southern Minnesota could see gusts over 20 mph throughout the day on Friday.

Because of the temperatures, snow will be melting during the day, so watch for slick spots overnight where any puddles refreeze. That low-level moisture could also lead to a few patches of overnight fog, especially for northeastern Minnesota.

The weather stays mild all through the weekend. That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
